... When the enemy seeks to unsettle you, remember that your security rests in the strength and victory of Christ.

Today’s Scripture reminds us that spiritual conflict is real, but the final victory belongs to God.

Paul closes Romans with a striking promise. He does not tell believers that they must defeat Satan by their own strength. Instead, he points them to “the God of peace.” The One who gives peace is also the One who has authority over the enemy. Satan may oppose, tempt, deceive, and seek to divide, but he is neither equal with God nor beyond God’s control.

Scripture teaches believers to be alert without becoming fearful. Our struggle is not merely against flesh and blood, yet we must also be careful not to blame every difficulty on spiritual warfare. Sometimes conflict comes from our own sinful desires, careless words, or poor choices. Biblical discernment requires humility. We should take responsibility for our own sin while remaining watchful against the schemes of the devil.

When spiritual opposition comes, the Christian is not called to panic or act as though victory depends upon personal power. We are told to stand firm in the Lord. His truth exposes lies. His righteousness guards the heart. Faith answers doubt. The assurance of salvation steadies the mind. The Word of God gives us truth with which to resist temptation, and prayer keeps us dependent upon the strength of Christ.

Jesus has already triumphed through His death and resurrection. Therefore, believers resist the enemy from a position of confidence in Christ, not confidence in themselves. We submit ourselves to God, remain grounded in Scripture, pray faithfully, and trust Him with the battle.

When the enemy seeks to unsettle you, remember that your security rests in the strength and victory of Christ.

Lord, give me discernment to recognize temptation and humility to depend upon You. Help me stand firm in Your truth and trust Your power rather than my own. Amen.
