One Way to Salvation

... May we never take God’s grace for granted, but continually rejoice that the same Savior who called us also invites all who will believe.

Romans 10:12-13 NKJV (devotion translation)

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Devotion:

Today’s Scripture reminds us that God’s invitation to salvation is extended to every person through Jesus Christ alone.

Paul wrote Romans 9 through 11 with deep sorrow for his fellow Jews because many had rejected their Messiah. Although Israel had received God’s covenants, promises, and the privilege of bringing the Messiah into the world, these blessings did not provide salvation apart from faith in Christ. Paul’s burden teaches us that religious heritage, spiritual knowledge, or family background can never replace a personal relationship with Jesus.

God has always been faithful to His promises. His covenant purposes for Israel reveal both His sovereignty and His unwavering character. Yet the same grace that was offered to Israel is also offered to every nation through the finished work of Christ. At the foot of the cross, every person stands on equal ground. No one is accepted because of ancestry, and no one is excluded because of background. Salvation is received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

This truth calls us to humility. We cannot trust in our accomplishments, traditions, or outward expressions of faith. Our confidence rests entirely in Christ, who died for our sins and rose again. It also calls us to pray for those who have not yet believed, just as Paul faithfully prayed for his own people. The heart of God desires that sinners come to repentance and find life in His Son.

May we never take God’s grace for granted, but continually rejoice that the same Savior who called us also invites all who will believe.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for providing salvation through Your Son alone. Keep my heart humble before You, strengthen my faith in Christ, and give me compassion to pray for those who have not yet trusted in Him. Amen.
