Devotion:

God has always made a way for His people to come into His presence, but He has never left that approach undefined. From the earliest days of Israel’s worship, the Lord established clear patterns to teach His people both His holiness and His grace. The temple, with all its careful design and structure, was not merely architectural detail—it was a visible reminder that God Himself is the One who establishes and strengthens those who draw near to Him.

The place where the temple was built carried a history marked by both failure and mercy. What began as a site connected to human sin became, by God’s provision, a place of worship and restoration. This reveals something important about the character of God: He redeems what is broken and uses it for His purposes. He does not ignore sin, but He makes a way for reconciliation.

Every element of worship pointed to a deeper truth - that access to God is not casual, nor is it earned by human effort. It is granted by His design and fulfilled ultimately through Christ. What once required priests, sacrifices, and separation has now been opened through Jesus, who made a way for us to come directly before God.

Yet the principle remains the same: when we come before the Lord, we do so with reverence, humility, and dependence. We are not entering merely a place, but acknowledging His presence. And in that posture, God does what only He can do - He establishes our lives and strengthens our hearts.

The Lord is still faithful to meet those who come to Him rightly. He forms what concerns us, not according to our strength, but according to His enduring mercy.

Prayer:

Lord, establish my heart in Your presence and strengthen my life according to Your mercy through Christ, Amen.
