Devotion:

Fear often presses us to act before God has spoken. In moments of uncertainty, the natural instinct is to take control, to solve the problem quickly, and to secure our own outcome. Yet Scripture consistently calls us to a different posture - waiting. Waiting is not passive resignation; it is active trust in the timing and authority of God.

When we move ahead of the Lord, even with good intentions, we step outside of His will. Partial obedience or delayed trust reveals a deeper struggle within the heart - a reluctance to fully depend on Him. God is not honored by hurried decisions driven by anxiety, but by steady Faith in His Word and His promises.

Waiting on the Lord requires humility. It acknowledges that His wisdom is greater than ours and that His timing is never late. Even when circumstances seem urgent and pressure increases, God remains sovereign. He is not constrained by what we see or feel. In fact, He often allows situations to narrow beyond our ability so that His power becomes unmistakable.

This kind of trust is not about having perfect faith but about directing even a small measure of faith toward a faithful God. When we resist fear and choose to wait, we align ourselves with His purposes. In that place, God strengthens the heart, clarifies direction, and accomplishes what we could never achieve on our own.

The Lord is not looking for hurried action but for surrendered hearts. He is faithful to act in His time and in His way.

Prayer:

Lord, teach me to wait on You with trust and to obey Your Word without fear, knowing that Your timing is perfect. Amen.
