The Peace Christ Gives
... The Savior who wept over sinners also willingly gave His life so that all who believe in Him might know the lasting peace of God.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Devotion:
Today’s Scripture reminds us that the peace Jesus offers is found in a restored relationship with God.
As Jesus approached Jerusalem, He did not rejoice over the crowds or the praise they offered. Instead, He wept because He saw hearts that were rejecting the very One who had come to save them. His sorrow revealed the compassion of God for people who were separated from Him by sin. Christ did not come merely to improve lives or ease earthly burdens. He came to reconcile sinners to a holy God through His sacrifice on the cross.
The suffering Jesus endured was not an accident of history but the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan. He willingly bore the punishment that we deserved so that forgiveness could be freely offered to all who place their faith in Him. The temporary sacrifices of the Old Testament pointed forward to the perfect sacrifice of the Lamb of God, whose death was sufficient once for all. Because Christ finished the work of redemption, we do not earn God’s favor through good works. We receive His grace by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
The peace that Christ gives is different from the peace the world promises. Circumstances may change, trials may come, and sorrow may remain for a season, yet the believer can rest in the unchanging certainty that God has made peace with us through His Son. That peace steadies the heart because it is rooted in God’s faithfulness rather than our circumstances.
May your heart rest today in the truth that the Savior who wept over sinners also willingly gave His life so that all who believe in Him might know the lasting peace of God.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending Your Son to bear my sin and make peace between You and me. Help me trust fully in Christ’s finished work and walk each day in the peace that only He can give. Amen.
